I hope everyone have read this book... or else, i will come and hunt you down and make you read it. Aside from Harry Potter, this is the book that got me back into reading in highschool. I also read online that they are working on the Ender's Game movie, which the final draft of the script is getting done... written by the same guys that wrote for xmen movies. I don't know if that's a good sign, but at least the script is originally started by Card himself. the last sequel Shadow of the Giant is really boring, but i read it 'cause i am a fan. The previous sequels, shadowpuppet, shadow of hedgemon, and ender's shadow are all really awesome. Focus on the story of Bean and the army children that worked with Ender. For anyone that already read ender's game, i SUPERIOUSLY recommand you to read Ender's shadow and then move onto the sequels. The characters grow so rapidly and man, just gets so awesome and thrilling!

I'd have to agree with Ed that this series kicks ass. I've already read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow. I have Shadow of the Hegemon here with me. Is that the next book in line after Ender's Shadow? And is Speaker of the Dead any good? That's the sequel to Ender's Game, right?

Yeah! that is! speaker of the dead is the sequel following ender, it is not that good... it is a bit boring but the sequels after that like xenocide ... it is really boring... in my opinion. but yeah, keep reading shadow of the hegemon, the next book Shadow Puppets is intense! The book focuses more on the villain Achilles, and the test of Bean's loyalties and his betrayals. I feel like reading them again.

that kinda sucks though because as much as I like to read about Bean, Ender is the badass that I want to know more about. Ender's Game was awesome! I wish he hadn't been banished so he too could be in the middle of the mess with Bean and everyone else on Earth.

yeah i know! but he goes into this peacemaker character, and he doesn't do much. He becomes a political leader and peace diplomat. It is interesting but all talking and not much action.
What happens on Earth is action and war and betrayal. OH WOW! I can't wait for you to finish the books so i can talk about it. I don't want to ruin the ending for ya. heheh.

so far Shadow of the Hegemon is really awesome. I've been renting these books from the library but I haven't seen Shadow of Puppets in there at all.
Yea I like there to be a good mix of action in a book. especially these books since the action is written so well. When I think about it, the last chapter of Ender's Game kinda put me to sleep. Ender needs to blow some shit up, dammit. Enough of this peace business. he's a born killer.

cool. I'm gonna try reading Shadow of Puppets this summer but I'm not sure if I want to read the Speaker of the Dead though since it sounds boring. Isn't there a prequel to Ender's Game about Ender's dad? Is that good?

i just finished Shadow of Hegemon. Man, what a crazy book! And I can't believe that bastard Achilles got away!
I saw First Meetings in the library the other day. I might read it one day.
What other books besides the Ender novels do you recommend? I'm thinking about reading the Lord of the Rings books. The movies are really good but I'm sure the books are much better. I read the Hobbit earlier this summer and loved it!

Lord of the Rings friggin rocks. I've read them all three times. But the thing about it is that it's kinda like Wicked. You either love the books or you are going to be bored to death by it. I don't really think the writing of it is in the fashion of the Hobbit though. The Hobbit was a bit more 'easy-going'. LOTR has so much more stuff in it like all the history and just all these crazy stuff, and some people find it difficult to comprehend. But the writing is just amazing. I never for once thought they were boring but some people might disagree with me. But since you've seen the movie it's gonna be much more easier to understand.
Another book I would recommend,(with the risk of sounding too predictable) is Gregory Mcguire's 'Wicked' or 'Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister'. He uses the most creative and imaginative sentances and the plot is odviously very appealing.

LOTR is pretty good too. Mario, you gotta read the sequel to shadow of hegemon. That's Shadow Puppet . Man, you won't believe what happens to Bean and Achilles. INSANE! I can't spoil it for you. It is just so awesome. has anyone read A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Leguin?

yea i've been listening to lotr on audio book and holy crap is it boring so far! I think It'll get better. I also checked out First Meetings from the Ender series. It's pretty short. And yea I'll have to read puppets. Sounds like a good one.
Now that you guys mention it, what the heck is Wicked? Seems like there are a lot of fans here. I thought it was a play or something. They have a Wicked play showing in downtown Chicago right now.
