Holy Crap Mario! You live in Chicago?! No way! That's right! Wicked has a Chicago production right now and it's gotten the most amazing reviews! Ana Gasteyer from SNL is Elphaba and everyone is saying she's a super star!! Seriously go see it!! You're gonna love it! Since your an animator and stuff, especially if your young days were strongly influenced by quality Disney films!!(Also, the music was done by my all time favorite Disney song writer: Stephen Shwartz- Pocahontas, Hunchback of NotreDam, Prince of Egypt) I'm definately going to go see the Chicago production pretty soon sometime. Ana Gasteyer's contract ends at January 22nd I think, so I might fly to chicago right when winter break starts or maybe even on the Thanksgiving holidays. But you should really check it out! There is a very good reason that some of us are sooo obsessed with it. It's THAT good!
Ed- I saw the sci-fi channel production of Earthsea. Did it do any justice to it? There were some really cool parts but the end was a little "wha?"...Kristen Kruek was beautiful than ever though.

Plus just go see Wicked for the amazing acting in it. Watching a broadway show or just any kind of quality theatre raises your acting skills way up high. You just learn so much just by watching it.
And the tickets are cheaper than broadway. See it while you can! -Q

Crap! You guys got me all hyped up about it now! I checked for tickets but they're way too expensive. The cheapest ones I could find are like 150! If I only bought them a month ago when I first looked!
You're totally right about the acting. It's good medicine for an aspiring animator. And I've never been to a freakin play before!

after I read this, I went "What?! There is NO WAY that the Chicago production tickets are that expensive!!" Then I check and man...You were right Mario. It was really expensive..like 200 bucks I coudn't believe this, because there is no way that regional productions are more expensive than broadway productions(in NY). So I got suspecious and dug in. And found out that different ticket sites have different prices. Then I found this site: www.ticketmaster.com/venueartist/57530/964216/It's ticketmaster and it's got the cheapest prices. I checked on some dates, and the ticket prices are about $77. I hope that is cheap enough for you! If not we'll definately go see it another time. Something else you could try is: www.wickedthemusical.com/chicago/tickets.htmOn the part where it says "Wicked Drawing" you enter a lottery thing and you could get the tickets for $25. But I don't know if I would take a chance on that though. If it's free I'd give it a try. Not really reliable though. Yeah, I was like that too. I used to hate all kinds of plays/musicals. Then along came Wicked. If you really do check it out, you are most likely going to have this gigantic urge to turn it into an animated film. Because it is just 100% animated film material. And not 3D animation material, but STRICTLY TRADITIONAL ANIMATION MATERIAL. You'll know what I mean. This explains why there are so many Wicked fan art and nerd talk about turning it into a hand-drawn animation film on these boards. -Q
