Let's talk.
I went and saw it this past Saturday. it felt good to get out there and support my industry buying tickets and watching it with the kids. I don't get out to the movies often.
I didn't like the movie much, but there were moments I really thougt were good ideas, like the cel phone scene was brilliant, and the frog animation was so fun to watch (although I think I'd like the frogs more if there were fewer. sometimes there were just too many to watch at once).
I was surprised it wasn't funnier. There was a big crowd and there weren't many laughs. The jokes were just weak. The snails got the biggest laughs when they sang, but come on! Not the wittiest humor around.
ANyways, what about that trailer for "Happily Never After"? I was shocked. I hadn't heard anything about it previously, and it was like Shrek, and even had a rapunzel char. or something, and Patrick warburton comes back to do the lead voice (boring) and he kinda reminds me of Kronks shapes. And like Shrek it uses regular normal songs, instead of original music. The designs were kind of cool though. Check out Harald Seiperman's blog for some of his designs. Still, not very excited for that.
THe Bee Movie trailer was weird, they didn't show any animation, just Seinfeld in a costume with Chris Rock on a giant windshield set...strange. Whatever. It should have some cool moments from what I've heard.

I read somewhere that Aardman is cutting ties with Dreamworks over how Flushed Away was handled - I don't remember if they said it was particularly about Flushed Away, but they were looking for a different distributor, citing "creative differences"...
