So there's a bunch of stuff coming out today in the theater. There's Monster House, Lady in the Water and My Super Ex-Girlfriend. You can check out how they're doing at www.rottentomatoes.com/I'm kind of curious about all of them actually. Monster House is going to be really gross and rotoscoped, but its still an animated film and I can't resist animated films no matter how bad they are. Then Lady in the Water has me pretty intrigued! Curse you M. Night Shamalamadude and your mysterious trailers!! It's getting pretty subpar reviews, but I want to watch it anyways..... eventually. And finally My Super Ex-Girlfriend looks like fun. *shrugs* I probably won't watch anything in the theater though. Too expensive! So what do you guys think about these?

Gonna go see Lady in the Water tonight...It sounds really seriously weird, and probably not in a good way, cuz it features M. Night playing himself as the savior of the world, and monsters called Scrunts and Tartutics(??!!)* Should be interesting at the very least, though. (The cinematography is by Christopher Doyle, who did HERO.) So...I can give a full report in a few hours.^_^
*Yeeee-ah, these are almost as bad as George Lucas names, hehehe.
EDIT- Okay, I saw it...I didn't find it boring, but the plot was one of the strangest, most arbitrary things I've seen in a theater. (And the photography was kinda dissapointing. And M. Night Shyamalan seems to think he's the Second Coming. But I didn't think it was as horrible as THE VILLAGE.^^)

Shyamalamalayan just makes me angry anymore. Sixth Sense was cool, but it wasn't an excuse to make movies like Signs or the Village. Lady in the Water just sounds laughable. There's probably a reason they won't show anything in the trailers. I mean... just the enormous pretentiousness of casting himself as the future savior of mankind, plus throwing in a cynical movie critic who gets killed by the "scrunt" as a premature stab at the people who are going to be walking away disappointed, is pretty disgusting. I've heard surprisingly good things about Monster House, though it'll be all ugly and mo-capped. Maybe we can rent it six months from now. Super Ex-Girlfriend had Uma Thurman throwing a shark into that dude's bedroom, that looked awesome. The rest, uh....

Didn't like Lady in the water, I thought it was his weakest so far. The story was interesting but didn't feel like it was told in the best way. The director is way pretentious...his part WAS too big in the movie and there were moments where I felt llike he was bragging to be a great storyteller. Most of what he does well seems to be stolen from other directors. I'm still a sucker for his films though, and I keep hoping the next one will be as good as sixth sense...

Saw MIAMI VICE last night. The shaky cam stuff kind of got my nerves, but I thought it was pretty good overall, nice intense action sequences. It also has Gong Li, if you like Gong Li.

Haven't seen Lady in the Water. But I LIKE Signs despite everyone's hatred for it.
