i must've gotten onto some sort of mailing list because they keep sending me this stuff.
anyway, got this in the mail today:
Thirteen years in the making and over 1300 pages, Jeff Smith's massive epic the BONE: The One Volume Edition has been shortlisted for a Quill Award. This is a new consumer driven National Book Award created by Reed publishing and NBC Universal. Voting takes place from August 15 - September 15. Awards ceremony will be televised on October 22.
The Quill Awards are a consumer-driven celebration of the written word created to inspire reading while promoting literacy. The goals of The Quills are to:
*Celebrate Excellence in Writing and Publishing
*Recognize and praise the creators of important books and great literature
*Interest more consumers in acquiring books and reading
* Act as a bellwether for literacy initiatives
