Hey guys! I finally found this footage from Disney's new movies, Wilber Robinson, and American Dog. Jesus told me it was on Aint it cool news like a week ago, and I couldn't find it, then Nick told me it was on Animation Nation yesterday.... still couldn't find it...... anyways.... not important. I found it, and I thought I'd link it for you guys. This stuff is bad ass! I hope the stories to these movies are good, then finally Pixar might have some competition. www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=20944

I got to see all of that footage at Siggraph. There was much more than that and it all seems quite good. I was told that Disney feature doesnt have any positions open, but im sure they were lying instead of telling me im not good enough. In any case applying to work on some of these future prokects seems like a good way to go for some.

Yeah I read this at animated-news.com earlier. The movie I'm most interested in is probably Rapunzel Unbraided. Yeah, I know the title is really lame and the rumored plot is also lame, but you just know it's gonna be amazing because two people who are at the top of their game are doing this. Glen Keane and Kristin Chenoweth.
plus I saw two screen shots and they were drop dead goregeous.
plus KRISTIN CHENOWETH !!!!GAHHHHHHH!!! SHE'S GONNA ROCK EVERYONE'S SOCKS!!!!! -Q

That stuff looks pretty cool! I wish the American Dog one went a little longer. It looked cool at the very end! I wish they could have shown something on Rapunzel. I think I'm most curious about that and American Dog. Probably because they showed us a lot of Wilbur Robinson stuff at CalArts. Oh Disney. Will I ever be able to forgive you??

www.animationnation.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=010512;p=1Here's some more images I found while looking for these clips yesterday! There's some at the bottom too! Rapunzel looks pretty slick! I heard that the image of her on the swing can be rotated 360 degrees. Pretty durn sweet! The pic with American Dog and the cat in the car is pretty awesome too. Oh I love you Chris Sanders!

I think we're all holding out on rapunzel. Still images never do justice, as they can always be paintovers or just plain paintings. Though there have been a lot of improvements in non-photorealistic rendering that could theoretically allow for the cg to look like a painting...maybe. That one still of her on a swing is pretty hard to swallow as being computer generated.
That mouth shape for the american dog is awesome. I really wanna see that one. We need that Sanders guy to visit sometime.
Oh yeah, so are all these movies being done at the imagineering building off of the 134? Or are they being done at some other location?

I love their look, here...but sorry guys...I don't really agree with wilber...maybe it's just me being very sensative about character desingns and colors, but they look pretty ugly...especially the blond boy. I hate his hair. and why that blue and why that red? what happen to combination of different values? it's like the very basic stuff of color and design.
I really liked the bad guy at first and some one told me it's a rip off of some other cartoon character that already exists. and remebering their rough story boards, they looked way better in 2D. the way they're using their camera angles and how they show us the space in motion seems like more suitable for 2D film. they're not really taking adventage of 3D modeled space. but I dunno...the story might be good and saves the movie.
I like American dog's look much more. it's charming...and Rapunzel looks beautiful, too.. but I heard people saying bad things about it...but...I'm not gonna just agree with what other people say till I actually see them all and agree with them. you know...I'm more into their looks..I guess...

the wilber stuff looks sick. I'm not too sure about the american dog animation. Especially his waddle toward the dore. Style wise it looks gorgeous though.

yeah, the little waddle DOES look a little stiff. but the rest looks aboslutely gorgeous! and Wilber Robinson looks like a barrel full of good times. 2006 is gonna see something like 6 animated films (including Cars, American Dog, Wilbur Robinson, Barnyard and Repunsel, right? can't remember what the other is... i think it might be Walace and Gromit).... gonna be a hoot and a half!
