So the next thing I'm going to read is the entire set of Narnia books. I'm about a third of the way through the first one. It's pretty boring cause I've read it a bunch of times before and we just watched the lame ass movie, but I feel like I need to read all of them ya know? They're all pretty short. I think I can read them by the time I go back to CA. (hahaha!)
It was pretty cool cause I remembered having the whole set back when I was a kid, but it wasn't down in the basement with all the other old books. Everytime I came home I looked for it. It turned out being in my sisters room! It was awesome to find it sitting in there! woohoo!
What are you guys currently reading?

Jen, isn't the "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" the second book, isn't something like "The Magician's Nephew" the first? Just wondering.
I'm not currently reading anything. Anyone have any suggestions?
peace.

Justin - Apparently the original set started with "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." I think that's the order he wrote them. They changed it recently so it start with "The Magician's Nephew" I think cause that's actually chronological order... maybe... I think. I dunno. The set I have is old so it start with the wardrobe one.
I'm gonna read The Da Vinci Code after this... maybe. It'll probably take me forever to finish Narnia. I'm so slow. Heidi also suggested Watership Down, and Lissa suggested Neverwhere. I think I will read them all. Maybe one of those interests you Justin?

Jen- I'm reading Narnia too! Moro let me borrow her huge book containing all of them. The Lion the Witch...is the second book in it, but I know it's the first one written. should I read it in the order it was written? or should I read it in chronological order? does it matter?
Oh by the way, did anyone see the new DaVinci Code trailer? I never knew Audrey Totou(sp?) was init....
The new X-men trailer looks sweet. super sweet. -Q

Q - That's awesome!!! I read more last night. It's pretty cool when they go visit the beavers. They say so much more then what's in the movie. More about the world. It's pretty nifty. I saw the DaVinci Code trailer too. I think it was in front of King Kong, right? It looks pretty interesting. I think I want to read the book first. That usually will ruin the movie for me though. Owell.
Xmen is awesome! If its as good as the other movies I'm totally there!

yeah Q, the x3 trailer does look awesome. I thought someone told me hale berry isn't in it, but she IS...at least in the trailer.
I finally saw King Kong and it was pretty good. the first half does drag and drag and DRAG... everytime Jack Black has this serious look I wanted to laugh. I can't take him seriously.

Halle Berry's hair gets stupider every movie. She should just have long hair like the character! Now she's got really short dyed weird hair!! Why!? Just have long cool hair that blows in the wind, cause if I had cool wind powers I would want cool long white hair that looked good blowing in the wind!
That is all.

I kinda liked Halle Berry's hair in the second X-Men. I agree on her current look...her hair looks dumb. White long hair blowing in the wind like crazy looks so much cooler. so Jen, which one should I read first in the Narnia series? -Q

hahahha, maybe halle berry got sick of wind blowing her hair. it is itchy, it gets tangled up, it pokes her eyes, it gets caught on crap. if i have weather wind power i would probably want to be bald or something. but then again, i can control the wind to fix my hair after a hard day work of saving the world.

Q - I dunno dude. I personally would rather read them in order they were written. It just kinda makes sense. Adrian and Ed know a lot more about the books though, maybe there's a good reason they reversed the order.

it really doesn't matter... i read it out of chornicle order and it was fine. but it is probably the best to read it in the chornicle order, so you can feel like a whole big story.

Q, i think chronicle order is the way!
Magician's Nephew the lion, witch, & wardrobe the horse and his boy the dawn treader the silver chair the last battle
but really, it doesn't really matter which you start with. maybe you should do an experiment, start with the last battle and go backward!!!

Cuz no one's posted in a while...^^ I just re-read CS Lewis's OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET. It deals with some of the same themes as the Narnia books, but in a more grown-up and detailed way...and it's set on Mars! How cool is that. A lot of the images are incredibly trippy. (I did some fanart for it in my blog.) The next two books in the trilogy, PERELANDRA and THAT HIDEOUS STRENGTH, are also highly recommended. There is also a book called VOYAGE TO ARCTURUS by a guy named David Lindsay. It's kind of hard to find, as it was written in I think the 20's(?) but it's full of amazing crazy stuff. Sometimes I think the fantasy writing scene was a lot more interesting and original before Tolkien, because after him everyone just started ripping him off. (No fault of his own, he's the best.=p)
